An Orlando-based timeshare company, Westgate Resorts, and landowner Jim Gissy have asked the City of Dunnellon for a change to the city's Comprehensive Plan to allow for the development of a 90-acre resort and RV park on the east side of the Rainbow River. Local residents and springs advocates fear that this development could harm the Rainbow River and the community of Dunnellon.
