WHEN

Saturday, July 16th, 9:30-4:00,

With an optional Springs Event open to the public that evening

WHAT

A one-day workshop designed to help springs groups and individual springs advocates more effectively Communicate for Change for our springs, rivers, and waterways.

WHERE

Cypress & Grove Brewery in Gainesville has opened up their beautiful space to us to use during the daytime hours they would normally be closed.

If you attended our Springs Summit in April you may have seen Communications expert Angela Bradbery's presentation, "Communicating for Change." Angela's overview of effectively using communications to effect change was one of the most commented-on presentations, and we got a lot of requests to hear more from her. So we've invited her back to present a one-day workshop with us.

We'll also cover how to create an effective grassroots campaign, generate letters to the editor, move from "raising awareness" to inspiring action, cover some practical tips, and we'll workshop some campaigns for real issues from groups around the state.

Angela was a journalist before specializing in public interest communications. She later became Director of Communications at Public Citizen, one of the most effective public interest organizations in the country. She co-founded Smokefree DC, a nonprofit organization that achieved the passage of landmark smoke-free workplace legislation through education, media outreach, organizing activists, and lobbying elected officials.

Who should attend? The workshop was designed for volunteers or staff of organizations working to inspire action on behalf of Florida's water, but individuals are very welcome. Photographers, springs advocates with social media platforms, writers, activists - anyone who is interested in using better communications to move the springs conservation movement forward.

After the workshop ends, you're invited to stick around (and 501c3 organizations are invited to table) for an evening springs event at Cypress & Grove Brewery.

Attendance is free, but space is limited, so register below.

I am REALLY looking forward to workshopping with you!
